Scrapbooker, Retreat Host, and Creative Enthusiast
Married to her high school sweetheart and a proud mom of four, Valerie Watson has always been passionate about capturing life’s special moments.
Her journey into scrapbooking began when her first child was born—disappointed by traditional baby books, she started creating her own, and soon, a lifelong passion was born.
From Scrapbooking Gatherings to Val's Place
In 2006, Valerie founded MVP Scrappers, hosting large-scale scrapbook retreats where up to 40 attendees could come together to create and connect. After years of fostering community through crafting, she took a bold next step—purchasing Val’s Place in 2019.
Now, Val’s Place is a dedicated craft retreat house in downtown Westfield, Indiana, where guests can escape daily distractions, reconnect with old friends, and focus on what they love most—crafting, quilting, and creating.
When she’s not hosting retreats, you’ll find Valerie (sort of) working out, relaxing by the pool, visiting national parks, or diving into her latest scrapbooking or quilting project.
But her biggest passion outside of crafting? Volunteering with a local dog rescue. You’ll often find her caring for a foster pup—or several!
